During art workshops that artist Abd Alkader gave to children from different backgrounds, each child made a painting of a specific bird with a unique background. In this way, the idea of a giant mural was born in the artist's mind. Each bird represents a community in the Netherlands. The garden with trees drawn by the children symbolizes the Netherlands. Here all the birds come together to live side by side in this beautiful country. Each bird carries a different flower or plant in its beak. This is a reference to the unique contribution each person makes to the diverse society. Everyone adds a piece to the uniqueness and diversity of this great country. The sky belongs to everyone.
