This inspiring 16 meter wall is about Article 1 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of the Netherlands: "All persons in the Netherlands shall be treated equally in equal circumstances. Discrimination on the grounds of religion, belief, political opinion, race, sex, disability, sexual orientation or on any other grounds whatsoever shall not be permitted.

The artist translated this fundamental right into a feeling of safety and connection. Everyone is welcome. She deliberately chose the backs of people to emphasize the connecting arms and to make the people a bit more anonymous, so that it is easier for the passer-by to recognize themselves in them. Hedy also chose fresh colors, and colors that match the surroundings and the building, such as the trees, the awnings and the blue sky.

Hedy Tjin is an illustrator and visual artist. She is known for her diverse expressions such as murals, textiles, illustrations for newspapers and children's books that won prizes. Her work is characterized by recurring powerful colors that express subjects of social value, intended to let the public explore complex themes in an inviting way.

The mural is situated on the corner of Elzenstraat/Noordhoekring
