Brook Road Mosaic

Roadside mosaic was designed by Brook Road residents with the assistance of artist Grace Holliday @gracegholliday. The Brook Road mosaic is part of the Thornton Heath Community Action Team (THCAT) @thornton_heath_c_a_t  Street Action Project funded by The People's Health Trust. It was supported by THCAT volunteers by giving of their time. The aim was to improve the feel and look of Brook Road, helping to connect with neighbours and local businesses.  Strong connections were created with business owners who supported the residents' aspirations by donating wall space on which the Brook Road Mosaic has been placed, a venue for smashing crockery and tiles and providing refreshments.  The mosaic project created real community cohesion among the residents of the Brook Road and other local people who continue to work together to address issues in their neighbourhood.
