The work celebrates the ancient rite of “Is Fraccheras,” unique to the heart of Sardinia, when the youth of Gadoni, at nightfall, would carry great bundles of burning sticks through the village streets to guide the wandering souls of the dead beyond the borders of the settlement.
It was a collective and profound gesture: a fire lit not only to illuminate, but to remember, to preserve the bond with those who are no longer with us.
