The Chorus cabinet art initiative began in 2010 with a test pilot in Auckland to try to reduce the amount of vandalism to telecommunications cabinets. It proved so successful it was extended throughout the country and now aims complete on average 170 murals each year. Chorus have over 11,000 telecommunications cabinets across New Zealand so plenty of blank canvases to beautify.
Artist Sally Saberhagen has used a vibrant colour pallet to create her fantasy-inspired mural located on the corner of Maunganui Road and Puriri Street.
Her mural is a peek into a world filled with fantasy creatures like dragons and unicorns.
