Pretty Things Which Go Together

This artwork speaks to both the history of the Enfield area and a concept which is close to Jackson's heart; the conservation and protection of local threatened wildlife. Jackson has shown this through a two-sided story, with one side showing the famous red canaries from the old Tomkins Nursery and the other side highlighting a local at risk bird species, the glossy black cockatoo. The two sides of the story are linked through the phrase ' Pretty Things Which Go Together'. This phrase was inspired by signage from the present day Enfield Flower Power which was also the former Tomkins Nursery site.

The name of the red canary owned by the Tomkins family was Avery. The typography at the base of the artwork was created by Ann Woo, the artwork part of the Enfield Murals Project.
