The Vicars: Celebrating Marrickville

This work celebrates the site of the Vicars Woollen Mill, an important piece in the history and story of Marrickville. It pays homage to the original Indigenous inhabitants, the textile industry, the wool process and the immigrants and families who built and shaped the textile industry for which Marrickville became famous.

The artist has created a contemporary piece using a combination of imagery and typograph that reflects the vast history of the site but also looks to the future and provides inspiration for a younger generation who will, in their time, have an influence on the area as well.
