Carol Ruff

40,000 Years

Carol Ruff led a core group of artists to create this mural that marks a sense of place and identity for Aboriginal Redfern. The Rainbow Serpent curves throughout the length of the mural and presents the stories, struggles and histories of Aboriginal people.

Additional artists include Colin Nugent, Tracey Moffatt, Joe Geia, Avril Quail, Kristina Nethm, Charlie Aaron, and Sydney TAFE Eora College students and many volunteers. Thirty-five years later, the mural was restored to its original excellence.
