During World War II, a social activist threatened life against the fascist regime of extermination, saving the lives of innocent beings - she organized and participated in secretly moving children through the ghetto gate, making appropriate documents for them, and in looking for guardians and hiding children. For her merits Irena Sendlerowa was honored in 1965 with the medal of the Righteous Among the Nations, in 2003 - the Order of the White Eagle, while in 2007 - the Order of the Smile.
