Il est temps d'agir

For the past fifty years or so, humanity has lived in opulence and in a state of unchecked consumption. But the dream of a life without limits is beginning to crumble: temperatures are rising on land and in the oceans, and climate refugees now outnumber war refugees by a factor of three. We are rushing headlong into a frenzy of overconsumption, overproduction, overeating, overindebtedness, and overheating.

It is time to act, because we are capable of thinking differently. This is not merely a moment of awareness, but the major challenge that humanity will have to confront in its history. Climate change can be seen as a collapse… or as an opportunity for rebirth—an opportunity to become a more mature humanity, able to see itself as a species in solidarity with life rather than as a blind predator. A unique chance to transform ourselves from within.
