‘Ich bin ein Porto Rhiner’ — this phrase, which comes from Alsatian, can be translated as: ‘I come from the Port du Rhin neighborhood.’
Above these large letters, a sentence can be read in small print:
“Basse Cour des Miracles * touche pas à mon poto!! Le Studiographe”
“Basse Cour des Miracles” is a collective association of various artists (musicians, ceramists, illustrators, sculptors, etc.) who share a space managed cooperatively. This space is a former abandoned industrial site that was reclaimed and transformed into a place for artistic work and creation, as well as for cultural activities for the people living in the neighborhood.
The phrase “touche pas à mon poto!!” translates from French as “Don’t mess with my bro!!”. In this way, the artist Le Studiographe is expressing his unconditional support for this artists’ collective, which is located just a few meters away from this mural at 10 Rue du Port du Rhin.
