Alphonse de Lamartine

Made famous by the lyricism of his poems, member of the French Academy, he entered politics starting from 1830. During the Revolution of 1848, he became part of the Provisional Government. In particular, he signed the Decree to Abolish Slavery in the French Colonies on April 27, 1848.
