Salto nel Buio (Leap into the dark)

Mural of 38sqm in Silius, South Sardinia.
Silius is a small town in southern Sardinia where the main economy was the extraction of fluorite from the 1950s to the early 2000s.
The work is dedicated to the miners of Silius and to the change of life caused by abbandoning the land to go to work in the mines.
The miner, illuminated only by the light of his carbide lamp, goes to discover a new world, a sort of different dimension symbolized by the presence of minerals suspended in the air, as if to emphasise a sense of insecurity and instability that all these men had front leaving old lifestyle. At the same time, a magical and new environment is created where the curious protagonist goes to find. There are 20 precious stones as the number of miners who unfortunately lost their lives inside the mines of Silius.
