Description

The Culture Delegation of the Camas City Council has just presented the first executed project of the Plan for Artistic Interventions in Public Spaces in the town. The objective of the project is to recover vandalized public spaces and convert them into artistic places for the enjoyment of the population.

This intervention on the transformer wall of the northern roundabout of Camas has been carried out by Pedro Almeida and consists of two sides. On the north side we can see an old station and the railway depots, an image of the municipality of which only the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Humiliation is preserved.

On the east side, the artist has based himself on an image from 1965 to capture a Jung locomotive No. 4 “Guadiamar”. This machine was in charge of making the route from Las Minas de Aznalcóllar to Camas, making clear the importance of the town in the industrial sector in the south of the province.

The work contains details and references that the residents of Camas will be able to discover when they observe it closely. In the words of Pedro Almeida “the work tries to establish a dialogue with the territory, its history and its people.”

I started painting with spray cans in 1999, and I liked it so much that I wanted to learn how to use it to create art, to be able to decorate streets all over the world, and thanks to the effort and perseverance, today my work is muralism with graffiti.
