Cantandole a ladrillos de Canela

The artist Axel Void captures his ode to Andalusia in two murals for the Livensa Living student residence, reclaiming public spaces as an extension of one's own home. The two large-format murals (16mx15m) located between Antonio Maura Montaner and Genaro Parladé streets, are curated by Seleka Muñoz and Laura Calvarro, founders of the Delimbo gallery.

Axel Void studied Fine Arts in Cádiz, Granada and Seville, with works of urban art strongly influenced by classical painting and drawing. For the intervention in Livensa Living Seville, Axel Void has made two specific murals for that site, which function as a diptych. The mural complex is an ode to Andalusia, to the relationship that Andalusian culture generates with public space, as if it were an extension of the home.

To do this, he has used as a starting point a photograph in which some young people appear jumping into the sea from the Carranza Bridge in Cádiz. This image represents the use that can be exerted on any element present on the street, and, above all, the artist highlights the attitude of enjoyment and freedom with which we can relate to public space and the opportunities it offers.

The message of this mural also adjusts to the spirit of the residence itself, thus being an incentive for future residents to have an enriching, pleasant experience in connection with the city and with the students themselves. Axel Void returns to his roots through this mural, remembering the ability to play, valuing the little things and the quality of life in this region.

El artista Axel Void plasma su oda a Andalucía en dos murales para la residencia de estudiantes Livensa Living, reivindicando espacios públicos como extensión del propio hogar. Los dos murales de gran formato (16mx15m) situados entre las calles Antonio Maura Montaner y Genaro Parladé, tienen el comisariado de Seleka Muñoz y Laura Calvarro, fundadores de la galería Delimbo.

Axel Void estudió Bellas Artes en Cádiz, Granada y Sevilla, con obras de arte urbano fuertemente influenciado por la pintura y el dibujo clásicos. Para la intervención en Livensa Living Sevilla, Axel Void ha realizado dos murales específicos para ese sitio, que funcionan a modo de díptico. El conjunto mural es una oda a Andalucía, a la relación que la cultura andaluza genera con el espacio público, como si este fuera una extensión del hogar.

Para ello, ha usado como punto de partida una fotografía en la que aparecen unos jóvenes tirándose al mar desde el Puente Carranza de Cádiz. Esta imagen representa el uso que se puede ejercer sobre cualquier elemento presente en la calle, y, sobre todo, el artista resalta la actitud de disfrute y libertad con la que nos podemos relacionar con el espacio público y las oportunidades que este ofrece.

El mensaje de este mural se ajusta también al espíritu de la propia residencia, siendo así un aliciente para que los futuros residentes tengan una experiencia enriquecedora, placentera y en conexión con la ciudad y con los propios estudiantes. Axel Void regresa a sus raíces a través de este mural, recordando la capacidad de juego, poniendo en valor las pequeñas cosas y la calidad de vida en esta región.
