The sad song

The artwork by GRAYK (Jose Villanueva) was created in 2021 for the project "Against Forgetting" as part of the theme year 1700 years of Jewish life in Germany and 900 years of Jewish life in Thuringia. Directly opposite the site of the former synagogue in Schmalkalden, GREYK's work takes up the topic of migration in an impressive and melancholic way. The figure of the frog in this picture symbolizes strength, resurrection and the courage to explore the world.
