Have you ever dreamed of flying?
With her upright posture and extended arms, the dancer seems to be on the verge of a leap into the unknown, evoking the desire to transcend physical limitations and let oneself be carried away by the freedom of flight.
This artwork painted by the Spanish artist Sbah shows the human desire of rising, flying and allowing yourself to be carried away by imagination. To plow through the sky in its broadest meaning, not only physically but also metaphorically through your imagination and freedom of expression, through arts (dancing, literature, music, painting, etc.). The huge floor mural invites the audience to walk on top of this enormous canvas and let their mind go, promoting the freedom offered by imagination.
Visually harmonious and balanced, it is not very flashy because of its pastel tonality and smooth color transitions searching for fineness, delicateness and elegancy. No element in this artwork intends to stand out or being more relevant than other.
The entire mural was painted with special floor painting and covered by a protecting layer of varnish to preserve it in good conditions as long as possible due to its peculiarities, it is a floor painting in the middle of a plaza close to a school so many kids are going to step on it daily. It took about a week more or less, delayed by rainy days during the process.
Sbah (Murcia, Spain) is an emerging artist mainly focused on social projects who doesn’t stick with a formula so his art is always developing and growing, trying to find comfortable with what he paints in every moment. Something common in his artwork is the palette due to his predilection for black&white, purples, pinks, turquoises and yellows.
