Description

“And yet, we bloom” by San Antonio artist Kat Cadena @kat.cadena on the corner of East Houston Street and Navarro, Downtown, San Antonio, Texas in December 2020 for @luminariasa. Photos taken May 2021.
⠀⠀⠀
Thanks @kat.cadena for answering my questions: “Everything looks perfect. I used acrylic paint called Nova Color. It’s from a shop in California. And thank you!!”
⠀⠀⠀
"Two women, one indigenous, one black, touch hands in the water and lock eyes in a gaze of support, trust and solidarity. All around them, lotus flowers bloom. Lotus flowers are revered worldwide for blooming immaculately each morning out of the murkiest, muddiest waters. Their seeds can withstand thousands of years without water and still produce a flower centuries later." @kat.cadena

Mike Franks
I'm retired, travel a lot, read books from everywhere we go, get confused quickly in a few different languages, and post mural photos every day to Instagram @uclamikefranks. Then I write the artists to see if I got anything wrong. It's a fun hobby and gets me out on the streets.
