Je maintiendrai

"Je maintiendrai" was at first a random phrase that the twin brothers artists came across on a random coat of arms on a house during a walk. Later they found out it's part of the official coat of arms of the Netherlands. Meaning "I will uphold", the phrase resonates with the context of the Ukrainian brothers art.

Using the form of a classic Dutch still life, they show objects that on the one hand refer to the city, the country and the people and on the other hand to themselves living in conditions of war as Ukrainian citizens.
