These mandalas were painted inside the pedestrian tunnel under Fairway Drive near Lake Anne Elementary School in 2018. Mandalas are meant to represent harmony and unity, and also gave a nod to the school mascot, the dolphin. The pedestrian tunnels are an essential part of Reston's original design, allowing people to move about the community safely. If you're going to see these, you might also want to stop by Lake Anne ES (as long as it's not a school day) and see the brand new mural there.
