The composition draws on the classical iconography of Charity in Art, a focus made in reference to the status of the AVIS institution in Ragusa and its high statistical ranking of blood donation in Europe. The design references classical sculpture from Greek influences researched at the Museo Archeological Ibleo, The Museo Archeologico Regionale Paolo Orsi in Syracuse and from Late Baroque examples as seen in the UNESCO heritage of Ragusa Ibla.
