Pájaros en la cabeza

2024 San Juan, Puerto Rico. ”Pájaros en la cabeza” is a mural located at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus. It pays tribute to the pivotal role that public universities play in the progress of society. Two women are depicted opening a cage together, symbolizing the conquest of rights and the liberation of those who feel trapped in a system that restricts their possibility to spread their wings.

This opportunity came my way through a public open call, and it’s been a great and inspiring challenge to bring this design to life over such a scale!
