Mechanická galaxie (Mechanical galaxy)

Created for the 2021 Signal Festival, “Mechanical Galaxy” is Jan Kaláb’s first virtual sculpture and one of the Czech Republic’s early AR artworks. The brightly colored, metallic constellation transforms Lyčkovo Square when viewed through the Signal Festival app, blending digital innovation with Kaláb’s signature cosmic forms.

Practical information: Best viewed in daylight. Download the Signal Festival app (App Store / Google Play). Scan the QR code on the information board in the northwest part of Lyčkovo Square to access the work. Follow the on-screen arrows to the sculpture, explore it from different angles, and record your own short video clips.
