Brama doktora Marcina (The Gate of Doctor Marcin)

In the Gate of Doctor Marcin (as Marcinkowski was called) murals by Patrycja Rutkowska, an artist and curator associated with Barak Kultury, appeared. - In my projects, I evoke the nineteenth-century, intriguing, and sometimes disturbing art of human anatomy. I filter it through the present day and integrate it into the space of the gate, at the same time using its fixed elements. I decided to use medical and anatomical engravings created in the years 1800-1846, i.e. during Karol Marcinkowski's lifetime, hoping that during his studies or during his medical practice, Doctor Marcin had contact with them - explains the author of the murals.
