Matt Velvet contribution to the 2020 edition of Les Nouveaux Ateliers Festival in Port de Bouc.
"Public Futility": this monumental work represents a surrealist interior, in which objects are numbered as on an interior decoration catalogue page. We guess a pleasant view, obstructed by decorative elements. This image was born from a reflection on the futility of material aspirations, but also from a questioning of the legitimacy of such an intervention, if confronted with an in-depth renovation of the building.
