This piece shows Valerie, a Deaf woman, signing asl for Open Mind. She is surrounded by neon begonia, which are the symbol for "good communication between two different people"

The piece talks about open minds bridging the gaps between the hearing and the Deaf. And between different kinds of Deaf people. It was inspired by the different stories of the two Deaf artists, who share a lot of similarities but had very opposite journeys in Deaf culture.

We could not have met a better teammate and sister in each other. We have the tattoos to prove it.
