“Resilient”

"Resilient" is a circular design with symmetrical patterns similar to a mandala, taking advantage of the opportunity to express a striking contrast provided by the omnipresent duality of life and death. Mandalas are spiritual and religious symbols that depicts the universe. The representation of this coloured artwork on the grey and worn background of the wall, which has been left in its condition of decay, intends to convey the idea of life triumphing over death, resulting in rebirth under difficult and chaotic circumstances.

Self-taught artist and muralist Daniel Ephraim, better known as KOKON - "Keep on Keeping ON", was born in 1987 in Olivos, Argentina. He has created a DIY creative career by painting, muralizing, and intervening in common objects with unique colours and designs. Depending on the geological location of the mural, he likes to focus on the local fauna depicting nature and botany. He also investigates and develops his technique in the domains of geometry and mandala, curious about how these two subjects interact. The colour combinations and contrast they produce with the curves and details of the pieces of the work stand out via acrylic painting, which is usually done with a brush, giving them depth.
