Acrocanthosaurus roamed what would become the southwestern United States and beyond in the middle Cretaceous Period, approximately 100 million years ago. Acrocanthosaurus was the top predator of its day and is among the largest of the meat-eating dinosaurs, measuring at least 38 feet long and reaching well over six tons.
The plants below the dinosaur are similar in appearance to those from the time of the Acrocanthosaurus.
