Don't Wake the Dreamer

+2 images

Description

"Don't Wake the Dreamer" is a 153-foot mural inspired by Tempe's young dreamers, depicting scenes of children playing and students from Arizona State University. Artist Lauren Lee aimed to make the mural an interactive space, doubling as a backdrop for photography and becoming a local landmark. Against a deep-blue starry sky, a reclining woman adorned with flowers and birds symbolizes ecology and the power of nature. Lee, an ASU Fine Arts graduate, is now an award-winning muralist and freelance artist with a history of public art projects.

As a graphic designer, photographer and art director working in economic development, to say I’m passionate about street art is an understatement. Public art is vital to building communities that reflect the heart and soul of the people who live there.
