No More Stolen Sisters

Description

"May 5th is #mmiw and #mmiwg2st Awareness Day. It is the birthday anniversary of Hanna Harris who was violently murdered on July 8th, 2013. A day we honor our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Relatives and 2 Spirit People. πŸ•―β€οΈπŸ™πŸΎ

I wear red and I give my offering with a prayer, and a song. I run with my spirit guide, and ancestors by my side. I ask for strength, courage and peace. I asked our creator to protect our indigenous women and girls physically and spiritually.

This week marks the 2 year anniversary of my #mmiw #nomorestolensisters mural. Thank you to everyone who has helped spread awareness by sharing the mural it has reached unbelievable numbers. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ•― Many many stories have been shared. Today wear red and keep spreading the awareness." - La Morena, artist

As a graphic designer, photographer and art director working in economic development, to say I’m passionate about street art is an understatement. Public art is vital to building communities that reflect the heart and soul of the people who live there.
