Reach High and You Will Go Far

Completed: 2000

This painting depicts the "transformation benefits of aspiration and achievement." Commissioned by local businesses with employees active in literacy programs, the goal was to show how struggle and hardship can still grow to success. The girl in the image is reaching for the sky where a towering tree is growing from the in bedding roots in her veins. Around her are ominous depictions of an abandoned car and boarded up home. This mural is a "visual homage to the notion of dreaming it and achieving it."
