The Legendary Dixie Hummingbirds

Done on October 30, 2005 - this mural celebrates the force behind the Dixie hummingbirds who pioneered modern gospel music. This one is located by the Met, where they often preformed. Starting in 1928, a group of neighborhood friends became one of the most successful groups of their time, who then moved to Philly in 1942. This mural is in tribute to their inspiring sound.
