Women of Germantown

Done in 2001 - on the former YMCA building  in Germantown, Philadelphia, this mural features 6 great women from the area with the motto "to empower women"

1. Maggie Kuhn - founder of the Gray Panthers
2. Louisa May Alcott - author and abolitionist
3. Sadie Tanner Alexander - first African American woman to go to law school at U Penn and become a member of the state bar association
4. Sarah Ward McLean - helped build Germantown's first YMCA
5. Clarice Gamble - first African American woman to get dictatorship of the YMCA
6. Dinah - freed slave who saved Stenton Manor from the British during the revolutionary war
