A Celebration of Poetry

Done on October 1, 2004 - this mural celebrates the African American poets' journey. The poets path starts with two women, one pouring water into the ground and the other playing an instrument. The winds then flow through the American cotton fields where blues and jazz musicians are playing. The journey continues into the present with a poetry reading. Within this mural are phrases from six different poets highlighting how important imagery and words are in a poets life.
