Donkishot : Un hymne à la rue, comme espace de la prise conscience, c’est l’histoire de quelle histoire ? « Hors les murs ». Il faut s’armer : alliés et complices. Le système ? Subvertir ses (res)sources. S’adapter… quelles armures, quels combats ? Toute auberge sera un château. Chevalier ? Validé. Le gars sûr, c’est Sancho ! La liberté, Dulcinée. Les moulins ? La rue, la loi, le bout de la nuit, la force, la répression, le luxe aussi.

On déjoue, on joue : le vandale, produit de la répression ou combattant de la liberté ? Quelle est l’histoire, on rêve ? Errements, déshérence, errances.
Délire de raconter des délires : dans la rue ensemble. Est-ce le même monde ?
Celui d’un processus créatif, aventureux et égaré.

Donkishot: A hymn to the street, as a space of awareness, what story is this? "Outside the walls". We must arm ourselves: allies and accomplices. The system? Subvert its (res)sources. Adapt... what armor, what fights? Any inn will be a castle. Knight? Validated. The safe guy is Sancho! Freedom, Dulcinea. The mills? The street, the law, the end of the night, force, repression, luxury too.

We thwart, we play: the vandal, product of repression or freedom fighter? What is the story, we dream? Wanderings, abandonment, wandering. Delirium of telling delusions: in the street together. Is it the same world? That of a creative, adventurous and misguided process.

Cédric Kozluk, né à Lyon en 1976, est avant tout un amoureux du dessin. Et c’est en 1991 que cet amour le mène à la rencontre du graffiti et de son univers subversif. De cette rencontre naît Brusk, un artiste polymorphe, tout à la fois graffeur, muraliste, peintre, dessinateur, sculpteur, mais surtout narrateur d’un monde à la dérive dont il sublime les souffrances et les injustices par une esthétique explosive et percutante.

La créativité de Brusk n’a eu de cesse d’évoluer depuis 1991 mais il est évident que le style de l’artiste est marqué par l’emploi de deux techniques quasiment omniprésentes dans sa création : la COULURE (dripping) et la DÉCHIRURE qui viennent très souvent fragmenter la représentation du monde que l’artiste nous donne à voir.

De cette altération du motif par déchirures et par coulures éclot une légèreté et une douceur révélatrices d’un monde dans lequel il semble alors possible de s’adoucir, de se réconcilier, de s’aimer, voire même d’espérer l’avènement d’un monde meilleur.

Dès lors une ambiguïté surgit entre une forme colorée et lumineuse et un fond révolté, acide, parfois même très sombre, un propos qui dénonce les dysfonctionnements de nos sociétés modernes, une révolte intérieure qui métamorphose la laideur de ce monde en une explosion de beauté, un véritable oxymore pictural qui nous redonne espoir. Réduire l’œuvre de Brusk aux déchirures et aux coulures serait donc une erreur puisque l’artiste façonne finement un univers à la fois léger et brutal, confronte avec justesse la nature et la culture, nous pousse à appréhender la monstruosité de notre monde par un regard bienveillant qui s’affranchit de toute négativité.

Cédric Kozluk, born in Lyon in 1976, is above all a lover of drawing. And it was in 1991 that this love led him to meet graffiti and its subversive universe. From this meeting is born Brusk, a polymorphic artist, both a graffiti artist, muralist, painter, draftsman, sculptor, but above all narrator of a drifting world where he sublimates the sufferings and injustices with an explosive and striking aesthetic.

Brusk’s creativity has been constantly evolving since 1991 but it is obvious that the artist’s style is marked by the use of two techniques almost omnipresent in his creation: the COULURE (dripping) and the RIFT that very often come to fragment the representation of the world that the artist gives us to see.

From this alteration of the pattern by tears and drips emerges a lightness and gentleness revealing a world in which it then seems possible to soften, reconcile, love each other, even hope for the advent of a better world.

From then on an ambiguity arises between a colorful and luminous form and a revolted, acidic, sometimes even very dark background, a statement that denounces the dysfunctions of our modern societies, an inner revolt that transforms the ugliness of this world into an explosion of beauty, a true pictorial oxymoron that gives us hope. Reducing Brusk’s work to tears and drips would therefore be a mistake since the artist finely shapes a universe that is both light and brutal, confronts withpushes us to apprehend the monstrosity of our world through a benevolent gaze that frees itself from all negativity.
