While records have been enjoying a major revival for several years now, video stores and their video tapes have long since disappeared from the cityscape. For the artist Katrin Lazaruk from Osnabrück, however, the magnetic tape remains an exciting object, even if her handling of the material was certainly not in the spirit of the inventor Fritz Pfleumer. Lazaruk had already prepared the faces of her portraits in the studio over several hours of work. The magnetic tape is first glued to a head-shaped Plexiglas pane and then modeled and cut to the faces of the portraits. In addition to the magnetic tapes, Lazaruk also uses transparent film in different colors. At the pump house on the Paderwiesen, the heads were then drilled into the wall with a dowel. The rest of the picture is painted with a brush.
