''Tradition passed from grandfather's hands to granddaughter's heart
In Guria, where traditions are passed down from generation to generation with a thread of love, a work was created that has the scent of wood, grass, and childhood love.
Chichilaki - has existed in Guria since time immemorial and is considered a symbol of fertility and prosperity. It had to be in every family when the New Year came and then burned to take away the bad energy of the year.
Nowadays, this long-standing tradition in Guria is slowly being forgotten, and people who make Chichilaki with their own hands are to be found with candles, especially women, although there is one girl in Ozurgeti who learned the art of making Chichilaki from her grandfather in childhood and continues to do it with love to this day.
With my work, I wanted to show how much power there is in knowledge passed down with love, which comes from traditional roots.''
