Raphael Pesentheiner, a native of Mölltal, takes you on a journey through the moving history and traditional culture of his homeland with his art on the Lagerhaus Tower. On the east-facing wall, he captures the image of the Glockner muleteers, who once carried loads on the backs of their pack animals over the majestic peaks of the Großglockner. This depiction is not only a tribute to the historic muleteers, but also a window into a bygone world in which courage and endurance characterised everyday life. The transition to the north-facing wall shows the tireless labour of the farmers on the steep slopes of the Mölltal. Even today, mountain farmers still fight against gravity with their scythes to bring in the precious hay harvest. The daily labour and the deep connection between the people and their land is brought to life here. On the west-facing wall, you can see a hard-working farming family harvesting hay, their community and co-operation symbolising life in the mountains. Below this scene, Pesentheiner reveals the hard work of the Mölltal miners in the ore mines and silver and gold mines. These mines were located deep in the high mountains and reflect the intrepid spirit of the people who searched for wealth and raw materials.
