In 2021 I painted this mural in lower east side on Delancey, to combat the hate crimes against the AAPI community. During this time during the pandemic, I thought a lot about the lack of Asian representation so I sought out to create some representation I didnt see growing up. This mural features people across the Asian Diaspora from Filipino to Chinese. Each person is holding flowers to represent holding space for yourself. To me, creating murals is about taking up space, and owning space. And Im immensely grateful this project was able to come to life, and remains a part of lower east side landscape
