World Cup Corner Mural & Art Activation - Unicorn151

World Cup Corner is a landmark open-air gallery located at the intersection of Market Street and Somme Street in Newark’s historic Ironbound district. Created in 2025 by Newark artist Unicorn151 with collaborators Torch Fuego and Knod The Artist, this immersive three-wall installation is the first World Cup-themed public mural site in the United States.

The gallery blends global football culture with the deep multicultural identity of Newark—featuring Afro-Latino traditions, African street energy, New Jersey film legacy, Ironbound community symbolism, and bold Jersey Club culture. Bright, high-impact characters and flags represent the immigrant communities who shaped the neighborhood, making the site a vibrant cultural landmark.

World Cup Corner functions as an ongoing arts activation space, attracting visitors, photographers, and tourists from around the region. As new panels and expansions are added, the site continues evolving into New Jersey’s most iconic outdoor mural destination.
