Vive Nameur po tot

Le titre de l’œuvre « Vive Nameur po tot» évoque un chant populaire entonné lors des Fêtes de Wallonie.

A travers cette fresque, Kahef a voulu illustrer la passation du patrimoine vers les générations futures, symbolisées par un enfant ouvrant le livre du patrimoine local d’où surgissent deux Echasseurs, ambassadeurs du folklore namurois, en plein combat. Les yeux de l’enfant s’écarquillent montrant ainsi qu’année après année, la magie opère toujours lorsque l’on prend la peine de mettre notre culture en valeur et d’ouvrir les pages du passé.

The title of the work ‘Vive Nameur po tot’ evokes a popular song sung during the Fêtes de Wallonie.

With this fresco, Kahef wanted to illustrate the passing on of heritage to future generations, symbolised by a child opening the book of local heritage from which emerge two Stilt Hunters, ambassadors of Namur folklore, in full combat. The child's eyes widen, showing that year after year, the magic still works when we take the trouble to showcase our culture and open the pages of the past.
