The visit of Sir Albert J.Smith

Description

Fred has decided to picture one of the greatest political and social event of Petitcodiac.

"On August 16th 1878, over a thousand people gathered in Petitcodiac to great Sir Albert J.Smith, federal minister of marine and fisheries who won an important claim against USA. Along with those who walked or came by carriage, many arrived by train, including seven cars packed with picnicers who accompanied the honoured guest. A huge tent was erected in front of the rail station to host a giant picnic."
