As part of the project "O Mês do Cordeiro" several artists painted in the historic center of Monção. Third, Oker and Fedor, belonging to Colectivo Rua, together with The Caver and Podre painted different aspects of history, heritage and local mythology.

This painting represents "The Treaty of Monção" that was signed on November 1, 1386 by King João I of Portugal and João of Gaunt, Duke of Lencastre and pretender to the throne of Castile. The two monarchs would have sworn perpetual alliance and friendship, with a clause of mutual defensive assistance; the Portuguese king would have committed to assisting the pretender in the conquest of his kingdom, with a force of 2000 spears, 1000 crossbowmen and 2000 foot soldiers, entirely financed at his expense. The duke would give his daughter Filipa de Lencastre in marriage. And as for the cession of the territory, the withdrawal of the suitor and the renunciation he ended up making of his rights (1388) made it fallacious.
