“Dean Stockton, better known as D*Face, arrived in Mexico City to create an emblematic mural as part of the UK-Mexico Dual Year in 2015. In this Global Series, the renowned British artist depicted a catrina with an expression that blends surprise and terror, imprinting his distinctive comic style with touches of pop art and a somber tone.

The mural is a fusion between D*Face's interpretation of Roy Lichtenstein's "Crying Girl" and La Catrina, a symbol of the Day of the Dead in Mexico. This cultural combination, portrayed in the mural, invites people to look at their everyday surroundings and reflect on the elements that have sculpted our cultural identity.

This collaboration between All City Canvas and the British Council Mexico culminated in the creation of one of CDMX's most prominent murals, which still adorns the facade of the Lisboa Hotel in the heart of the capital”
