Uncle Les Stanley

a long nematode(?) on an Arabic style decorative background. Two names appear (possibly Juzila S and Michael Altair)

Imagining Laneways was an art installation in the laneway behind Space2b.
A celebration of traditional design and pattern from around the world.
The project was to produce work, which acknowledges cultural heritage whilst also enhancing the appearance and experience of a public space.
The work was  developed through a collaborative process between 6 artists, a local indigenous artist, and 5 artists form Iran, India, Iraq, Pakistan and the UK.
The brief was to develop and create a unique and aesthetically beautiful painted mural, celebrating some of the many cultures of the world.
The inspiration and focus of the work was an exploration of the non-western decorative tradition in art.
The project included local neighbours and the school community.
