The Mordialloc Freeway Underpass Mural Project

The Mordialloc freeway underpass mural project is a series of murals painted on the new pedestrian underpass in Braeside.
The mural was a collaborative project between Hayden Dewar and Ashleigh Pugh, who formed a design that addressed the requested themes of local flora & the Aboriginal history of the area. In consultation with Bunurong land council they formed an appropriate approach for the latter element and Ash drew upon her indigenous heritage to depict this important culture and its connection to the surrounding land. This section of the mural shows the underpass wall that features depictions of native flora & fauna that inhabit Braeside park along with Ash’s paintings of the land before white settlement.
