Resist

Resist by Tom Whitty, painted in June 2022, plays on a Wordle theme and encourages resistance against government decisions like the reversal of Roe vs Wade in the US.

The artist says on his Instagram post - "Make no mistake, the ruling by the US Supreme Court is an attack on women the world over. They say when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. Well fuck this disease. I hope this generation of Americans is able to fight like those before them, because Instagram posts won’t cut it. They must take to the streets. They must resist."

The first photo shows the piece as of July 2022, the second is it's current status, slightly faded but going strong. It has been "postered over" a few times, but loyal street art fans soon tear down these advertising posters.
