According to the artist:”The concept derived from my own memories of moments with friends and fellow artists through the gardens, cafes and homes of Melbourne City. Reference for the reflected portrait was inspired by a photo taken of me last year by a friend in a nearby restaurant, also acting as a respectful nod to the previous self-portrait painting that occupied this street before mine”.
