The Imperfection of Beauty
Description
This work by New Zealand born and Melbourne-based artist Peter Seaton (@ctoart) looks at aspects of the conscious and unconscious minds in our digital age. The beautiful monochromatic portrait is intensified by splashes of intense colour. It's a balance between order and chaos.
There is another work by this artist on the opposite wall of the same building.
HOW WILL AI SIMULATE THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION ?
Futurist are predicting the invention of an Artificial General intelligence will create a technological singularity… a hypothetical future point in time at which technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible, resulting in unfathomable changes to human civilization.
BUT Can a machine replicate the spiritual nature of humans? Do they even need to? -
The nature of intelligence… what is the nature of human intelligence? -
The ability to fuck up, make mistakes and grow from them. -
The ability to discern right from wrong - better from worse, aesthetically, morally, spiritually. -
The balance between chaos and order. -
This mural tries to look for the answer.

I love street art. And I love sharing the images that artists paint on walls, whether it's here in Melbourne or in other visually exciting cities. I've been photographing art in Melbourne since 2005 and love being part of the street art community.
