Naturalesa morta (Dead Nature-Still life)

The title of this painting is given because of the artistic movement that had a lot of exposure during the 17th century in Europe. Still life was a kind of painting pretty much rejected until Baroque. The fact that artists talk through paintings of objects and what was called dead nature is something always fascinated me.

In this case, the skull instead of something natural, is IA created with porcelain and represents the death of the human efort and inspiration, the easy way to create new artworks and rapidly changed the paradigm of the art nowadays. Products of consumism and fast creation with no soul. Society has changed, the value of art is practically none and the capitalist system infected it creating new artists with lots of production and no meaning to it, just thinking on money incomes and social media exposure.

Dead nature, means that literally our human nature is dying and with it everything that surrounds us.
